I just read an article from Whole Living on meditation. Unfortunately, it is not posted on-line yet, but I would recommend picking up a copy to read the article!

Lately, I've been hearing a lot about the benefits of meditation. It calms the mind, finding the causes of the troubles that rest in the depths of the soul, uncovering who we truthfully are. When practiced, it offers a glance at ourselves from an outside perspective. Rather than caving into the worries of the day, meditation reveals the greater glories making the worries insignificant. It leads to inner peace and appreciation of the surrounding world.
I find it a challenge to control my thoughts. Unnecessary thoughts of the future creep into my mind. If those dreams of the future are unfulfilled, I am left disappointed, always wanting what I don't have. This is not the way I want to live my life. Meditation brings the focus to the present, leading to more feelings of satisfaction of what you already have. This, like many other thing, would be a valuable addition to my life (before it gets too busy!). I may have to take a meditation class while I have the time!
